Service Disclaimer

Last updated: July 5,2026

Chap’s Automotive Repair provides mobile mechanic services for basic repairs, maintenance, diagnostics, batteries, brakes, and common vehicle issues. Because we are a mobile service, there are limits to what can be safely completed outside of a full repair shop.

Mobile Mechanic Limitations

Not every repair can be completed at a home, workplace, parking lot, or roadside location. Some repairs require a shop, lift, alignment rack, tire machine, welding equipment, advanced diagnostic tools, or other specialty equipment.

At this time, Chap’s Automotive Repair does not offer:

Major engine repairs
Transmission rebuilds or internal transmission work
Body repair or paint work
Tire balancing
Wheel alignments
Welding or fabrication
Jobs requiring a vehicle lift
Major suspension repairs beyond basic mobile capability
Advanced electrical or computer diagnostics beyond available equipment

If your vehicle needs shop-level equipment or a more advanced repair, we will let you know upfront when possible.

Safety Comes First

We may refuse, reschedule, or stop service if the work area is unsafe. Unsafe conditions may include, but are not limited to:

Heavy traffic
Bad weather
Uneven or unstable ground
Lack of space around the vehicle
Unsafe parking location
Poor lighting
Aggressive animals
Hazardous surroundings
Vehicle condition that makes the job unsafe

The customer is responsible for providing a safe and legal area for service.

Diagnostics Disclaimer

Vehicle problems can have multiple causes. A diagnostic service is intended to help identify the most likely issue based on symptoms, inspection, testing, and available equipment.

Diagnostics do not always guarantee one exact answer immediately. Some problems may require additional testing, more time, specialty tools, or a repair shop to fully confirm.

A diagnostic fee may still apply even if the vehicle cannot be repaired on-site.

Pre-Existing Conditions

Chap’s Automotive Repair is not responsible for pre-existing vehicle problems, hidden damage, worn components, previous repairs, neglected maintenance, rust, seized parts, stripped bolts, leaks, electrical issues, or other conditions that existed before service began.

Some vehicle problems may become more noticeable after inspection, testing, or repair because other issues already existed.

Customer-Supplied Parts

If a customer provides their own parts, Chap’s Automotive Repair is not responsible for the quality, fitment, warranty, or failure of those parts. If customer-supplied parts are incorrect, defective, damaged, or missing required pieces, additional labor, rescheduling, or fees may apply.

Parts and Warranty

Parts warranties may depend on the part supplier or manufacturer. Labor warranty, if offered, may depend on the specific job performed. Warranty coverage does not apply to unrelated issues, pre-existing problems, customer-supplied parts, misuse, neglect, or additional failures not caused by the original repair.

Roadside and Emergency Service

Roadside help may be available depending on location, time, weather, safety, and the type of issue. Chap’s Automotive Repair does not guarantee 24/7 availability unless specifically agreed.

Customer Authorization

By requesting service, the customer confirms that they have permission and legal authority to authorize work on the vehicle.

No Guarantee of Completion

We will make a reasonable effort to complete approved services, but completion is not guaranteed if the repair is unsafe, more involved than expected, requires unavailable parts, requires shop equipment, or is outside our current mobile service capabilities.
